Enhanced Bio-corrosion Resistance by Cu Alloying in a Micro-alloyed Pipeline Steel

چکیده
On the composition base of commercial X65 grade pipeline steels, a Cu modified steel was designed to show improved resistance microbially induced corrosion (MIC). The mechanical properties Cu-added and its behavior in soil solution inoculated with sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) were investigated this work. results demonstrated that exhibits good combination strength toughness. ions released from could effectively kill SRB attaching on surface, thus evidently decreased pit depth diameter steel. Furthermore, during long-term immersion, Cu-rich film formed by enrichment product layer surface also contribute improvement bio-corrosion

Forgeability Study of Medium Carbon Micro-Alloyed Forging Steel
Micro-alloyed steel components are used in automotive industry for the necessity to make the manufacturing process cycles shorter when compared to conventional steel by eliminating heat treatment cycles, so an important saving of costs and energy can be reached by reducing the number of operations. Microalloying elements like vanadium, niobium or titanium have been added to medium carbon steels...
متن کاملRole of Chloride in the Corrosion and Fracture Behavior of Micro-Alloyed Steel in E80 Simulated Fuel Grade Ethanol Environment
In this study, micro-alloyed steel (MAS) material normally used in the production of auto parts has been immersed in an E80 simulated fuel grade ethanol (SFGE) environment and its degradation mechanism in the presence of sodium chloride (NaCl) was evaluated. Corrosion behavior was determined through mass loss tests and electrochemical measurements with respect to a reference test in the absence...
متن کاملSelection of Arc Welding Parameters of Micro Alloyed Hsla Steel
Like all steel types, HSLA requires a definition and strict practical adherence to welding parameters in order to achieve the required weld quality. Different sources offer a varying array of welding parameters. Although their hierarchical importance can be disputed, their principal definition and practical adherence are prerequisites for the quality of welded joints 1,2 . The analysis of earli...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of High Temperature Corrosion Processes in Mn, Cr, Si, Al – Alloyed Steel Samples
The grain boundary oxidation mechanism in hot rolled steel samples during cooling from 500 °C – 800 °C down to room temperature was mathematically modeled. Given a fixed temperature ramp, the migration of the atomic species (iron, oxygen and the alloying elements) has been calculated with the parabolic rate equation for diffusion. After each small time step, the data was transferred into the da...
متن کاملMicro abrasion-corrosion of AISI 316L stainless steel
In this study, the synergistic effects of abrasion and corrosion on AISI 316L stainless steel have been investigated using a micro-abrasion test rig. A series of results from abrasioncorrosion tests conducted using the micro-abrasion rig are presented. AISI 316L stainless steel has been studied under both pure abrasion and abrasion-corrosion conditions simulated by either distilled water or 3.5...
